Multi-Family Skills Group

Does your child have trouble with their temper, staying calm, or having difficulties in relationships? What about worrying, becoming frustrated easily or having low self-esteem? This group derives skills from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) that have been specially adapted for children ages 10 to 12 years old. In this 16 week group, both parent and child learn effective skills to address difficulties in various areas of emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and social skills.

Stepped Care Program: New Trauma Treatment Option at USF

family-closeness-3-1438586Stepped Care for Children is a research study between the University of South Florida and the Tampa Bay Crisis Center that provides treatment for children between the ages of 4 to 12 years old who have experienced trauma.  There are certain qualifications to be eligible, but this may be a great opportunity for families who need quality, evidence based mental health treatment for a child who has been exposed to trauma.  For more information, please follow the link here.
